Opening Up

So, for the Lover's Lane Boutique, I took some pointers from a few friends of mine (Thanks to the hubby, Erlinda Denise and Bhrea)! If it wasnt for them, I am not sure that I would have been able to get as many people on my mailing list of I may have even come up short on a few sales.

Kreative Kandi Apples is my baby...it is my business.
If I want it to grow, I need to be able to talk to people.

With another event only a week away, I know that it something that I HAVE to prepare myself for.

I cannot and will not make it if I cant talk to people.

I MUST open up and talk to people so they can learn more about me instead of just looking at my card and possibly throwing it away.

We will see how it all goes...

Praize Night

I will be participating in Another Level of Praizes Praize Night on Saturday, March 12, 2011. It will be held at the Dream Center in Carson, CA.

There is an expected turn out of hundreds of people.

I know that the last event, I wasnt 100% prepared and it is IMPERATIVE that I have all of this taken care of this time around.

I must make sure that I have my business cards, marketing materials, mailing list, etc...the list goes on and on and on.

This is an event where I can really market myself and my company to people.

I cant wait!!!

Chan's Valentines Day Apples

My godmother called and asked me to do Kandi Apples for her nephews class for Valentine's Day.

As usual, I asked what he likes, theme, etc and he LOVES Hot Wheels. So all his classmates got mini kandi apples with a Hot Wheels tag from Chandler aka "Chan the Man."

After giving away Kandi Apples for Valentine's Day, he has GOT to be the coolest kid at school.

I will not say who, when or where at the moment BUT I will say expect big things to happen for Kreative Kandi Apples due to the people that I know.

Lover's Lane Boutique

I was recently invited to be a vendor at a One Stop Shop for Valentine's Day. I was excited because this would be my first time as a vendor and I was curious to see how it would all turn out.

When I first found out about the venue, I said OK but when I realized where it actually was, I became a little hesitant. I am not the type of person that says I will do something and then not do it so I went forward with it.

Leading up to the event, I wasn't sure how many apples I wanted to make. I had a figure in my head but still hadn't made a final decision.

The boutique is here and it is slow. I am starting to get a little worried. I am wondering if more people will show up. All kinds of thoughts are going through my head.

In the end, I will say that I did decent. I did go home with apples BUT I did get some exposure to other people.

Would I do another boutique? ABSOLUTELY!
Would I do the same venue again? Not sure.

New Packaging

During one of our late night conversations, I was told by my friend of Sugar and Spice Event Design that I needed to come up with packaging for my apples instead of just placing them in random boxes or just handing them out to people. She told me that it is little details like that which makes my customers remember me and the little details that are important.

She gave me some suggestions, and she also told me where to get some supplies from for a REALLY good price!

I was able to use this at a boutique that I did over the weekend. This was my first shot at seeing how I could create nice packaging that people would remember. Instead of me just handing over Kandi Apples to people, I put their apples in a nice bag and they were on their way.

Here is the bag they walked away with!

80s Style Kandi Apples

When a friend of mine over at work reached out to me to do apples for her daughters birthday party, I said NO PROBLEM!

With each customer, I ask them what they would like for their tags to say and if there is no holiday, I ask what kind of theme they are going for.

When I asked that question this time, here is the answer that I got...
No theme…but her fav color is orange and she loves purple and turquoise too! She’s into Willow Smith and the 80s style stuff with paint splotches and stripes….and fishnet gloves, crimped hair….lol!

In the end, here is what I came up with!!!

Credit Card Machine - FAIL

Thought I had it all figured out with getting a credit card machine BUT in the end, I was mistaken.

I think it is great to have one BUT at the moment, I dont think it is a wise decision to commit myself to something for a long period of time.

Am I doubting myself and my business? NOT AT ALL!
I am just starting out and HAVE to be smart about it...PERIOD!

Oh Where Have I Been?

Its been too long since my last post...

My moms 50th birthday party is tomorrow and I also have a boutique that I am participating in tomorrow so I have been EXTREMELY busy with that for the past couple of weeks...

Its time to get back to business now!

Credit Card Machine

How would you feel if you were able to pay for your Kreative Kandi Apples with a credit card?

It didnt even dawn on me that I needed a credit card machine until I realized that I would be doing various events and boutiques and knew that I would have to turn people away that had credit cards.

I have done some research and I plan on having a wireless credit card machine.

Where Have I Been?

Its been quite some time since I have blogged but dont worry, I will be keeping you all updated.

I have been so busy with helping my mom out with her 50th birthday party and trying to get everything together for an upcoming boutique for next weekend.
